And no, you don't need to wear cowboy boots to the reception if you don't want to (although we're sure it's highly encouraged). As for the most pricey locales? This comes as no surprise — New York City, Newark, NJ, Jersey City, NJ, and Yonkers, NY, all top the list as the highest average wedding costs.

If you and your fiancé are hoping to get married in a church, these locations boast the most wedding chapels and churches per capita: Birmingham, AL, Richmond, VA, Salt Lake City, UT, Springfield, MO, and Pittsburgh, PA. The city with the very least places of worship is Pembroke Pines, FL.
